Ciao a tutti. Vorrei installare un modem intel 536 ep. Sotto debian ce l'avevo fatta a farlo funzionare. Adesso ho qualche problema.

Dunque, ho installato il pachetto intel-536ep.

Poi ho aggiunto intel536 e ppp_generic nei moduli di rc.conf e intel-536EP nei demoni.

Ho riavviato e ho trovato /dev/536ep0.

Ho installato gnome-ppp ma non riesce a rilevare il modem nemmeno sotto root.... che fare?


EDIT: allora, gnome-ppp non rileva il modem, però stranamente riesce a pilotarlo. Se lancio gnome-ppp da root e clicco su connetti, il modem comincia a lavorare ma alla ine non si connette. Se lo faccio da utente normale, il modem non parte neanche....

sembra che la password che gli mandi non gli piace....
per i permessi dovresti creare una regola per udev apposita per /dev/536ep0.
qualcosa che assegni permessi o un gruppo tipo

Allora, non sono riuscito a far andare internet. I dati sono giusti. Vi spiego cosa ho fatto:

ho avviato debian (sulla stessa macchina). Se da debian lancio gnome-ppp da root ottengo gli stessi messaggi ricevuti sotto arch e non riesco ad accedere ad internet (almeno questo è positivo).

Se invece sotto debian installo gnome-system-tools ed entro nell'amministrazione di rete, da li, con gli stessi dati riesco ad accedere ad internet...

Possibile? I dati sono gli stessi!

Purtroppo gnome-system-tools ho visto non essere presente in arch in versione aggiornata. Rimane il fatto che vorrei capire questa cosa... grazie.
